Every mosquito starts life in water. Female mosquitoes lay their eggs in still water, and in warm weather those eggs can become biting adults in about a week. A breeding site check is a slow, close look around your property to find every place where that can happen. On the Gold Coast, with its warm, wet summers and frequent storms, a small amount of water in the wrong place can produce a lot of mosquitoes.
